Internet Banking Tips

When making future dated Electronic Funds Transfers (EFT) or Bpay payments please make sure funds are available in your account or the payment will be declined.

Please be aware that there is a combined daily limit of $5000 for Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) and Bpay payments per account.

Internet Banking Fraud

Tartan Credit Union would like our members to be aware of current email scams where bulk emails are sent by perpetrators to try to obtain customer banking details such as passwords, personal code numbers and other details.

Usually these messages will start with a response that addresses system outages, card verifications or Internet Banking log-ons (note this is not exhaustive). Members should be warned of the dangers of responding to these types of emails and warn that fraudsters use many tricks such as using financial institutions logos to dupe the customer into thinking the request is genuine.

TARTAN CREDIT UNION DOES NOT & WILL NOT, AT ANY TIME, REQUEST SUCH DETAILS AS PASSWORD VERIFICATION.

Members should be warned to delete these emails and do not open any attachments.

We would like to suggest to our members to change your internet banking passwords frequently, never divulge your password to anybody and it is not recommended you use the 'remember' facility while performing internet banking.

ALWAYS UPDATE YOUR FIREWALLS AND ANTI-VIRUS PROTECTION WHEN POSSIBLE.
